Mission Viejo

Regarded as one of the largest master-planned communities built for a sole project in the country, the city of Mission Viejo encompasses a total area of 19 square miles within the picturesque Saddleback Valley of South Orange County. This mostly residential community was developed on land that was formerly used for cattle ranching, and was among the last areas of Orange County to be urbanized. Even though almost 100,000 people call Mission Viejo their home, the city radiates with all the warmth and feel of a friendly small town. Mission Viejo has the distinction of being ranked as one of the safest cities in the USA by several reliable sources.

Real Estate
Real estate options in Mission Viejo include single-family residences and sprawling estate properties mostly done in the classic Spanish Mission architectural style that feature adobe-like stucco walls and barrel-tile roofs. Newer developments have incorporated more modern and contemporary designs seen in country club homes, waterfront properties, custom homes, townhouses and condominiums. Homes are located in lovely, tree-lined neighborhoods with views of the mountains, lake, or Pacific Ocean.

Attractions
The Shops at Mission Viejo is a renowned upscale retail center and major shopping destination of South Orange County. Over 150 stores and restaurants can be found here, including anchor stores Forever 21, Macy’s, and Nordstrom, plus major stores of international brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Apple, Disney Store, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor, Gap, H&M, J.Crew, Microsoft, Old Navy, Pottery Barn, Ruby’s Diner, Sephora, Swatch, The Cheesecake Factory, Williams-Sonoma, Zara, and more.

Lake Mission Viejo is a reservoir located in the center of the area bordered by Marguerite Parkway, Olympiad Road, and Alicia Parkway. Private residential communities surround the lake, with a marina at the northwest side and two prominent beaches: Playa Del Norte on the north side, which features a clubhouse, volleyball and basketball courts; and Playa del Este on the east side, which is smaller and has a basketball half-court plus boats and kayaks for rent. The lake is also a popular boating and fishing spot, and is stocked with bass, catfish, trout, and sunfish.
